The {W} family wanted to do a portrait session with the grandparents, their two children (and their young families), along with the five grandchildren. We chose to do it at Jeffrey Open Space Trail and Park in Irvine, Orange County. So read on to see our Jeffrey Open Space family photos with a large, three generation family.
Starting Family Photos with a Picture Frame Prop
We started the session with the first family and their three daughters, using a picture frame as a fun prop for a portrait in a portrait.
Getting Portraits of the the Three Daughters
Then we got individual portraits of the three grandchildren, along with some of them all together.
Aren’t these three sisters so cute together!?
And just look at that backdrop. The trees and clumpy, natural grass with the sun coming in from above was just marvelous.

Large Family Photos with Three Generations
After doing a quick mini-session with each of the families, and the many grandkids all being warmed up to the camera by then, we did the whole large family photo. Two grandparents, two children, two in-laws, five grandchildren, three generations.

Jeffrey Open Space Family Photos
This is a great example of a large family photography portrait session involving three generations and two families. There were grandparents, children, and grandchildren in many different configurations, showing just how Judy can work with a large group. Judy is a master of this, since we have over 400 weddings under our belts (and thus over 400 large family photography formals). We are also very familiar with large Asian family photos (in this case, large Chinese family photos).
This portrait session took place at Jeffrey Open Space Trail and Park in Irvine, Orange County. Irvine is home to many local parks and recreational spaces that are great for family photography.
