The {S} family has three adorable children and wanted a natural backdrop for their portrait session. We decided to do Walnut Creek Park family photography in San Dimas, a local spot that we love in our hometown. Gavin actually did BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) with our dad of this family, so it’s a personal pleasure to do the family photos of a friend. Gavin also did newborn photos for them when their third child was born, so it’s amazing watching them grow up.
Starting with the Kids at Walnut Creek Park
We started our San Dimas family photos with the three children, getting individual portraits of each (as we can). It’s a great way to break the kids into the session, getting them comfortable with Judy and the camera.
Getting whole family photos on a trail in San Dimas
After that we brought in the parents for some family photos while walking along a trail in Walnut Creek Park. I love the choice of a red dress and the red accents to go with it.

We then took the time to get some portraits of just the parents by themselves. It’s always important in every family for the two parents to remember and celebrate themselves as a couple.
