The {K} family wanted family photos with a modern and urban backdrop, so downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) was the the perfect location. We went to the Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH) and Grand Park with its massive water fountain. Family photography at Grand Park was done at night and gave us colorful lights and a unique look, but look below to see for yourself!
Walt Disney Concert Hall Family Photos
We started the family photography portrait session at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH). There are two Asian grandparents and we started with them.
They have two grown daughters and we captured them still being loving sisters. We hope that our own daughters are close and just a cute when they are adults.
This is a naked coral tree, standing in the center of the beautifully landscaped Garden level. The little puffs of red flowers (and the naked branches) yield it’s self-explanatory name, the naked coral tree.
And here are the Chinese grandparents with their two daughters.
Then we added in the grandsons. We try to imagine the day we get our own grandchildren, and change less diapers and do more spoiling! This is three generations of a Chinese family together.

And this is a really adorable photo of the whole family, and a great chance to capture a family photo with the grandparents kissing.

Grand Park Family Photos
We then headed over to Grand Park for more family photography with the nighttime lights of the water fountain. The blue hour after the sunset was perfectly balanced with the ambient light of the water fountain and nearby buildings.
Finishing with DWP Family Photos
We finished the whole Asian family photography portrait session in downtown Los Angeles with the DWP building (Department of Water and Power). The Los Angeles skyline in DTLA looks amazing from this angle, especially at nighttime with DTLA and the whole city lit up.
Family Photography at Grand Park
This is a DTLA family photography session that started at the WDCH (Walt Disney Concert Hall), moved to Grand Park for water fountain family photos, and ended at the DWP for a view of the DTLA skyline. This is Asian family photography, specifically Chinese family photography, with three generations. The grandparents have two grown daughters, one of which has two sons (or two grandsons).
