And one of the best things about Southern California are the palm trees that grace our neighborhoods and campuses. Orange County is covered in this iconic tree.

One of the best spots for CSUF grad photos is at the very large TITANS logo in the middle of the Fullerton campus. It’s larger than life, unless you use forced perspective to get your subject larger than it!

And here is the California State University Fullerton Seal in a graduation photo.

Here is the main entrance on the south side of the Fullerton campus, framed with iconic palm trees.

And we LOVE this awesome grad photo of the CSUF gate and our soon-to-be grad framing it perfectly!

Our grad is a product of the visual arts program at CSUF, so it was only fitting to get a few images after dusk in front of the visual arts building.

We always love to see photography from a unique and different perspective, so when we see angles like this next one, we have fun with it!

We always encourage bringing props for some fun photos. We also clean up afterwards (which we wish some other photographers would kindly do)!

It’s quite a beautiful campus near sunset at CPP. The funny thing is the campus has changed since the CLA building was removed, as seen in the background of this grad photo session.

When life gives you flowers, we like to think our pictures get a little rosier.

There is a gazebo in the middle of the Rose garden at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP for short).

There is also a lovely bridge in the Japanese Garden at CPP also.

Starting the Grad Photos at CPP

We usually start the session with basic graduation portraits, often feeling out the comfort level of the student. After that, we can ease into the rest of session in a way that is fun and easy to do.

Here is a grad photo in front of the CLA Building at CPP. It is currently being demolished, so this icon of the campus will soon be gone!

These are graduation photos taken at Cal Poly Pomona (or CPP for short). This session takes place on the Pomona Campus of the CSU Polytechnic universities, including the rose garden and the soon to be demolished CLA Building. Crazy to think that the grad photos in front of the CLA Building will signify a transition in the history of the campus.

Starting CSU Fullerton Grad Photos

Here is that graduation photo at the Titans logo in the Becker Amphitheater.

After that we walked around the campus for more casual grad photography on the CSUF campus. Gotta love having some palm trees in the background (so iconic for southern California).

And of course we have to do one with the cap toss in the air!

Cal State Fullerton Graduation Photography by Dreams & Darlings

Cal State Fullerton, or CSUF, is located in Fullerton, a city located in northern Orange County (in California). We did graduation photos all around the beautiful campus, but also more importantly we like to capture CSUF graduation photos that reflect the experiences and memories our students have on campus. We like doing grad portraits with their favorite spots and buildings in the background, while also capturing iconic locations (such as the Titans logo or the front entrance for the campus). For example, here is one graduation session that used the CSUF library as one of her favorite spots (or maybe it’s just where she spent most of her time studying!).

We started with blowing confetti off the top of her cap, which is always a fun graduation photo!

Here is an example of a graduation photography portrait session done in a natural setting, specifically Bonelli Park in San Dimas. {K} had just graduated with her nurse practitioner degree and is celebrating with grad photos. Starting Graduation Photos at the California Botanical Garden

The California Botanical Gardens are a special and hidden gem in Eastern Los Angeles County. It’s located right north of the Claremont Colleges, which is where we went for the second half of the graduation photography portrait session.

Claremont Colleges Grad Photos

After graduation portraits at the California Botanical Garden, we headed over to the Claremont Colleges for more grad photos. I think it’s considered one of the more beautiful college campuses un Southern California. Our recent grad actually graduated from UCSC, but her family is here locally in the Claremont area, which made the family photos much easier.

We then did some fun grad photos with confetti, placed on her cap.

And of course it’s always a tradition to celebrate a graduation with a bottle of champagne!

Claremont Colleges Family and Graduation Photography

This is a great example of a graduation portrait photography session done in two locations in Claremont: the California Botanical Garden and the Claremont Colleges. Being from San Dimas, we consider the City of Claremont to be in our neighborhood. They are both local treasures and amazing for both grad photos and family photos.
