Los Angeles Arboretum Family Photography

We started the family photography portrait session near the front of the LA Arboretum. By the way, we had a permit to do family photos there. It’s totally worth it, and it’s required. Make sure you check with them in advance of your shoot if your photographer is not doing their part to make sure the shoot is official. Note that this helps us keep treasures like the Arboretum accessible and affordable for all of us.

Family Photos in a Bamboo Forest

Then we wandered over to a bamboo forest, which is like getting teleported to a place far away from Los Angeles County. The bamboo shoots up really high, at least 25-30 ft high. It also helps protect our family from the sun with the abundant shade.

And notice how we go from a bamboo forest to a jungle with only a few steps.

Family Photography at the Waterfall

There is a beautiful waterfall at the rear of the LA arboretum, which always helps with family photos. We also used the nearby pond and small bridge for more.

And a Peacock!

The peacocks are a signature of the LA Arboretum.

Fullerton Arboretum Maternity Photography

Since it was fall, the tree leaves were a golden shade of yellow, creating a lovely blanket of leaves on the ground. We definitely had to take advantage of that. We started with a focus on her pregnant belly.

The Bamboo at the Fullerton Arboretum

The bamboo forest at the CSU Fullerton Arboretum is an awesome and exotic backdrop, unusual for southern California. It’s just one of the many small ecosystems at this amazing gem in Orange County. And such a perfect setting for pregnancy photos.

Orange County Maternity Photography at CSUF

This an example of Orange County maternity photography that we did at CSU Fullerton, home of the Fullerton Arboretum. The gardens at the Arboretum are the perfect background for family photos and maternity photos. The different series of ecosystems make for multiple settings that we can access quickly and easily, even if you are a pregnant mother to be. Pregnancy photos are a specialty of Judy, who also know personally what it’s like to be pregnant (twice).

Judy knows how to help a mother-to-be feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It’s an odd thing, wanting to share the glow of pregnancy through maternity photos, but being shy of a changing body and an ever-growing pregnant belly. Let Judy guide you through this, with her gentle hand and friendly voice. And from there we can capture your growing family in the best way that we know how.

Starting with Family Portraits of their Son

Look at that adorable face! We started with individual family portraits of their son to get the shoot started.

And here is the little guy with an umbrella.

The Bamboo Forest at the Cal State Fullerton Arboretum

One of our favorite parts of the CSU Fullerton Arboretum is the bamboo forest they have growing next to a small stream. It creates a unique and distinct look to the photos, along with it being fun for the little son to shake!

And here is the whole family in the bamboo forest.

There is also a small bridge going over the stream that makes for great family photos.

And whenever we get the chance we love to play with the fall leaves on the ground.

There is a small pond in the center of the arboretum that has palm trees and other vegetation.

And the Orange Orchard

The toddler son was having a ball picking oranges straight from the tree in the orange orchard.

Cal State Fullerton Arboretum Family Photos

This is a family photography portrait session at the CSU Fullerton Arboretum. Cal State Fullerton is located in North Orange County, located along the 57 freeway. This family has one child (a son) and had their family portraits with a bamboo forest, streams, bridges, ponds, and lots of trees and greenery. There is no better natural setting for photos than an arboretum. This location is such a gem, it only requires a voluntary donation at the front entrance. We highly recommend leaving a donation to support such a great local resource and location. In the least, it’s a great garden to stroll around to clear your mind.

The Fullerton Arboretum requires a photography permit, so make sure you secure one if you plan a session. Know that it is basically a donation to an awesome place.

Starting in the Celebration Garden at the Los Angeles Arboretum

The Celebration Garden is a perfect spot to start the family portrait session, giving us a chance to break the family into the flow of the session. It’s especially important to get the kid(s) engaged with the camera.

Oh yeah, the LA Arboretum is known for it’s many peacocks!

We then walked over to the bamboo forest that they have at the LA arboretum, though they actually have more than one bamboo forest.

We played with some of the bamboo leaves laying on the floor, which their little son loved.

We then wandered around to other spots around the LA Arboretum, including the large stable or Coach Barn and the orange orchard.

But we actually started the grad photo portrait session at the Fullerton Arboretum, easing into the portrait session. The bamboo forest is a great backdrop for graduation portraits.

We had our recent grad hop in and out of her graduation gown or robes, getting regular portraits while we were at it.

And why not have some fun with some cap and gown images!

Then we hopped over to the library to have fun in place that most students at one time or another have practically lived in. Being surrounded by books is a great analogy for the university experience.

And of course we had to do a quick shot at one of the essential stops of any college student, Starbucks!

Grad photos are a great way to commemorate and end a long time spent in one place earning a degree. It’s a great way to record the way one looks and feels during the last months at their university. It’s a tradition that signifies a transition into the real world, and into another chapter in their life. Graduation photos are often used on social media and for promoting any planned graduation parties and events.

We started by getting family portraits of of just their son.

Then we had the whole family get together for photos.

Having Fun with Leaves at the Fullerton Arboretum

The fall leaves were a lovely shade of yellow, so what better way to keep a toddler boy entertained than to play with the leaves!?

Then we walked over to the bamboo forest there at the Fullerton Arboretum, starting in front of the picturesque little bridge crossing the small stream.

Then we got some maternity photos of just the pregnant couple together.

I just love how this tree and it’s light brown leaves (or needles) came out in the photo.

This is a Fullerton Arboretum family photography and maternity photography session of the {L} family, who is pregnant with their second child. They have one son already. They chose the Cal State Fullerton Arboretum and Botanic Garden, a local treasure at the local college. It has several ecosystems, including a bamboo forest and tons of trees. The Fullerton Arboretum was originally an orange orchard, but had to be replaced as the orange orchard suffered from disease. And that was the start of the Fullerton Arboretum. Since then it’s been a source of community cooperation and a treasure of the area. It runs off of voluntary donations, so anyone can take a stroll around its amazing grounds.

The LA Arboretum Waterfall

In the back of the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Gardens is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by beautiful greenery. It makes a gorgeous backdrop for family phtoos.
